My pesto is better than your pesto!!!
WHY?
I add 1/4 cup of Nutritional Yeast which is an excellent source of B vitamins, which gives your body energy and supports blood health. And in that 1/4 cup it adds 8g of plant-based protein.
And I also add 1/4 cup hemp hearts which is loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids which has a ton of health benefits, especially for your eyes.
In that 1/4 cup adds another 12g of plant-based protein.

In a food processor add:
About 4 cups basil, packed lightly
Zest from 2 lemons
Juice from the 2 lemons
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup hemp hearts
2-3 cloves of fresh garlic (depending on the size)
Salt to taste (about 1/2 tsp)
Drizzle 1/4-1/3 cup of olive oil while processing until desired consistency.
Makes about 1 cup of pesto
